The details
Marupote two-tone felt bag
The Marupote series appears every season. Hello, everyone.
As the iconic bag of Enakwam, it always arrives at this time of year.
Many people say that when they walk around town with a Marupote, they often get approached by others.
It’s a bit embarrassing but also makes me happy—a mixture of feelings.
A lot of effort went into creating this round shape.
Since you cannot add a core or structure inside felt, it was made solely by kneading and felting wool.
We developed tools with a lot of ingenuity to make mass production possible.
There are many behind-the-scenes stories about the creation of Marupote over several years.
However, I am just happy to be able to deliver it every year, and I can no longer remember the difficulties.
The roundness is exactly as seen in the photos.
There’s no editing or processing; what you see is what you get.
The bag comes with a fabric tie at the opening to hide its contents.
Adding your favorite cloth as a cover can enhance its charm.
As it is made of felt, it will shed some wool when you first start using it, but this will stop over time.
If lint balls form due to friction with clothes, please cut them with scissors.
Pulling off the lint balls by hand can remove the settled wool, so it’s not recommended.
Please handle it like you would a wool sweater, and I hope you enjoy it.
